www.Business.Gov Goes Green

Is going Green a fad? Or is it something bigger. Bigger than us? Ever since I wrote about a franchise out of California {Big surprise there} that is franchising it’s solar energy business, I have been receiving emails from folks that want to know more about it. And..this is really telling, my posts about solar energy franchises are still the most read about on this blog. Now, the US Government…

Is starting to really take this green thing seriously. As a matter of fact, the Business.gov website, a great resource for small business start-ups,  has decided to produce an entire section on  starting your own Green business. The section starts out like this:

Start an Eco-Friendly Business

Resources for start ups and entrepreneurs

Having a section like this shows me that this Green thing is certainly not being looked at as a fad, by the government. This section also shows some case studies of specific green businesses, including some well known ones like Ben and Jerry’s {A franchise!}, to all of us.

I suggest that you start thinking about adding a Green component to your business start-up plans. Get in on this today. You will help the environment, help your future customers/clients, and even help yourself.

Former Ford Motor Co. Employee Opens New Franchise!

środa, maj 14th, 2008

Every time it rains, I want you to think about Gerald Krause. Gerald, a former Ford Motor Company employee,

just opened up a franchise of his own….

Gerald retired from Ford last year, and attended a seminar on franchising that I gave at a local outplacement office. Gerald was joined by five other various middle mangagement and executive folks, who were recently downsized, or took an early retirement. Their former companies provided corporate outplacement services including resume preparation, interviewing skill building, and other career related  activities. Part of what these folks can choose to do is explore non-traditional career moves, like small business/franchise ownership.

Gerald shared with the group that he had always wanted to try his hand at business ownership, and that the timing seemed right. We talked about a week after the seminar, and after filling out a brief questionnaire that I designed {which helps me get an idea of my candidate’s skill sets, personality traits, and investment comfort level},

Gerald and his lovely wife, Margie, scheduled an in-person meeting at my Chagrin Blvd. office.

We got to know each other pretty well, and I presented a couple of franchise concepts to the Krause’s.
{Notice that both were in attendance at the in-person consultation, which is no-charge, by the way}

Puroclean

Gerald, although a tad skeptical at first, got real interested in PuroClean Property Damage Mitigation.What is Property Damage Mitigation? Remember when I suggested that you should think of Gerald when it rains? Well, when it rains in Lorain County, where Gerald just set up his new business, and it keeps on raining…Gerald will come to your rescue. His local franchise can help with water damage, mold remediation, and also do the proper restoration type services needed to get your household or business up and running, quickly.

So, Lorain County residents, please help a local business, if you need any of the services that Gerald’s company provides. {Smoke damage also} Thank you!

In a letter that Gerald wrote to me, thanking me for my guidance, he added:

"I am very enthusiastic about my entrepreneurial endeavor as
owner of the PuroClean Lorain County Office. Not only is this an exciting new
business opportunity, I’m also looking forward to making a valuable
contribution to my community."

Good Stuff!

{If you live in the Chardon or Kent area, I helped a couple of folks open PuroClean Franchises there, too! Call them for any needed services, please}

Should you be looking at a franchise?
